San Sebastián, you were the love affair I didn't even deem possible. Seeing the lights on Santa Christina bridge for the first time in the hazey light of a Wednesday morning. Our eyes- weary from the overnight bus from Barcelona, our souls- ready for a taste of this mysterious seaside city. Allured to this place by the words of Frank O'Hara's poem Having a coke with you, I decided it was a must on our trip around Europe.
Unable to check into our hostel until 1p.m we made the coach station our home for five hours before hitting the streets. The coastal landscape combined with alleyways (reminding me of Verona) and our tired bodies made the walk around San Sebastián a pleasant, yet exhausting one! And we still haven't been to the beach yet!!! We went a little bit too hardcore on the first night where Jess ended the night face down over the toilet. Carlos, (the night manager at the hostel) well-equipped from nights out drinking helped Jess until 5 in the morning and then had the courage to ask us the next night to join him for a party. I regretfully declined. But San Seb, you were a good time. Next Stop: Bordeaux, France Read about Barcelona HERE: http://dancinginviolentfields.weebly.com/home/travel-barcelona
